Sen. Roy Blunt (R.,Mo.) hit back against Senate Democrats’ false claims regarding the Burwell v. Hobby Lobby ruling, which said that the Obama Administration had infringed on Americans’ First Amendment right to freedom of religion.
Citing a fact check by the Washington Post, Blunt rebuked Democrats’ claims about the decision.
He debunked their untrue statements, telling his fellow Senators “The idea that people couldn’t have access to any FDA approved product is just wrong. Somehow that your employer can keep you from having access to anything you want to have access to that’s been approved by the FDA is wrong, as the millions of women and men who work for companies who aren’t covered under the law, prove every day.”
Blunt continued, “This is not about your pocketbook, this is not about what something costs. This is about whether or not the government has done everything possible to accommodate people’s deeply held religious beliefs.”
